Spring! Flowers are sprouting, the grass is growing again, trees are budding, and it seems like we’re seeing green all around. And it wouldn’t be spring without… green beer?! Maybe the first day of Spring isn’t until March 20, but Saint Patrick’s Day is almost here, and that means the return of all things green.
How are you celebrating St. Patrick’s Day this year? If you’re in need of inspiration, we’ve got a few ideas.
Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at home:
Make Irish Stew! A delicious combo of onions, butter, spices, lamb, veggies and barley – and you can’t have Irish stew without potatoes! The resulting fork-tender meat and potato combo would make a perfect St. Paddy’s day meal.
Don’t forget dessert. Chocolate-Stout Cupcakes include cream cheese frosting, Guinness, chocolate…even a little sugar-coated lime zest for decorating! Try this gem of a treat to finish off your St. Patrick’s Day meal.
Make some music! Have small kids – or just craft-happy adults – in your life? Get out the paint and craft supplies and try these paper plate St. Patrick’s Day-themed tambourines! Shamrocks, gold coins, glitter and rainbows – what else do you need for a musical, crafty, homemade Irish celebration?!
Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day out & about:
Kick up your heels. Wake up early and take part in the Dash Down Greenville and then dance to local party bands after the parade at the 40th Anniversary Dallas St. Patrick’s Parade & Festival on Greenville Avenue, March 16.
Sing those Irish ballads. Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with The Young Irelanders at the Eisemann Center. Their show brings together the Irish Cultural Academy’s finest traditional music, song, and dance, March 17.
Be an Irish cowboy. Cowtown Goes Green at Stockyards Station on March 16 with fun for the family including armadillo races, petting zoo, Irish music, and a parade.
Green isn’t just for St. Patrick’s Day!
Have a new print project to start? How about some green-spiration? Try out PANTONE’s Emerald for that quintessential Ireland homage; or if you prefer a spring green, try PANTONE 3501 or go even brighter with PANTONE 2287.
When it’s time to get your print project on the press, we can guide you toward a green solution! Keep in mind, our house stocks contain at least 10% PCW and we use soy-based inks in our presses. You don’t need the luck of the Irish to go green this St. Patrick’s Day – just your local printer, Metropolitan Press. #ThePrinterforNonProfits #MetPress
