The work Readers 2 Leaders does serving kindergarten and elementary students, not only in their after school program and on-site tutoring, but during their six week long summer camp, means 600 Dallas children this school year not only have the chance to improve their reading but their overall success in school. Readers 2 Leaders (R2L) provides “high-quality, high-dosage reading instruction” to students, and the literacy program even runs a lending library and parent education programs. We are honored to print for this fantastic organization, including invitations and more for their annual Lanes 2 Literacy event*, which will benefit the work they are doing in Dallas. This month on our blog, Metropolitan Press shines a spotlight on local nonprofit organization Readers 2 Leaders.
About Readers 2 Leaders
Last year 221 Reading Buddies – R2L volunteers – provided 5,185 hours of tutoring to Dallas children. Among the exciting things happening with the organization include hiring new staff, embarking upon a new collaborative with other literacy organizations called the Early Reading Collaborative, and launching a Coaching program after making the finals in United Way’s Social Innovation Accelerator. Their new partnership with Crystal Charity Ball and their generous contribution allows R2L to impact thousands of children in the next three years and beyond.
“Readers 2 Leaders’ mission is to develop and grow the reading skills of underserved Dallas children ages 3-12 so that they succeed in school and graduate prepared to live productive lives.”
Interested in contributing to their incredible work? “Volunteers not only help children improve their reading skills, but also increase their confidence and develop a love of learning and reading. You can become a tutor, mentor, and role model to a child in need by volunteering with Readers 2 Leaders.” Find out about available volunteer opportunities and more ways to support Readers 2 Leaders at readers2leaders.org.

All sponsorships and purchases for the original April date will be honored for the rescheduled October date. ” Visit readers2leaders.org/events to view the full statement.

Metropolitan’s Passion for Nonprofits
Metropolitan Press has a long history of supporting nonprofit organizations. We have a passion for providing professional printing and promotional services for those who work so hard to help so many facets of our community. It’s why we match donations made at our annual party on #NTxGivingDay, why we work closely with Communities Foundation of Texas to assist nonprofits in printing to spread the word to their donor base about North Texas Giving Day, and why we offer those nonprofits special pricing to assist them in spreading the word on this important day, where according to northtexasgivingday.org, “The event helps build awareness and support for nonprofits like nothing else. In 2019, $50 million was raised through more than 169,000 gifts benefiting nearly 3,000 local nonprofits, bringing the eleven-year total to over $290 million for our community. North Texas Giving Day is the largest community-wide giving event in the nation.” It’s why we work hard every day to provide excellent customer service, graphic design assistance, and professional print services and more to our nonprofit clients.
