We’ve got new faces around here once again! Metropolitan Press would like to welcome, and introduce you to, our two newest staff members, Colten Hill and Luis Marroquin.
Q: Are you from the Dallas area?
A: No, I actually just moved here in January after my fiancé was transferred from Houston, where we met. But before going to Houston I lived in Colorado, where I was raised.
Q: What is your education and work background?
A: I graduated from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. I was originally studying to be a high school art teacher, but switched to graphic design shortly thereafter. This will be my first official design related position. Before this I worked in retail and banking.
Q: Briefly describe your new role at Metropolitan.
A: I’m an Account Manager. I’ll be managing a set amount of our clients, and assisting them with placing their orders, finalizing their designs with them, etc. I also will be going out and seeking potential new clients for Metropolitan.
Q: What are a few of your favorite pastimes and hobbies?
A: I’m a big movie junkie. So I like to go see all the new films that get released and drag my fiancé with me (he isn’t as into it). Then if we’re just staying in, I like to just cook/bake, or do something artsy like draw or play around in Adobe Photoshop.
(Same questions for you, Luis!)
My name is Luis Marroquin and I’m from the Dallas area. I’ve got my BFA in Visual Communications from the University of Texas at Arlington. I have experience in garment screen printing industry as well as freelancing for product development and business identity. I’m an Account Manager at Metropolitan Press. My duties are to receive orders and prep them before pre-press, create estimates for clients, promote Metropolitan to bring more customers, and work and collaborate on design projects. I love watching sports, playing soccer, going to movies, and trying new eating spots.
We are excited to continue to expand our capabilities, skill sets, and abilities to serve our clients well, as we grow our team. Join us in welcoming Luis and Colten, and stop in and meet them in person the next time you’re in the area!
